“Dont worry, I know what you’re thinking: Harry Potter’s had a nasty quidditch accident.” Fourteen-year-old Jack Carroll opened his audition for “Britain’s Got Talent” with this line, and the act that followed was easily one of the most memorable — and hilarious — of the popular British reality sh…

Autism Awareness Month should not be Sad

Autism Awareness Month should not be sad, but this story us unfortunately true.

They want us to die: You wouldn’t believe how many people hate those of us with autism
www.post-gazette.com
The adult autistic community dreads the cerulean lights of April. Another crop of anti-autistic hate sites will appear, invigorated by the artificial sunshine of that cruel spotlight. The pastel blue of Autism Awareness Month will be everywhere, together with the jigsaw piece that demeans us to the…

Consignment, Chair, Vet

Another awesome, positive story.

Timeline Photos
Amazing Story!! Please Read and Share.

Saturday 3/30/2013 10:30 ish a.m.

A man and his wife visit East Town Mall to go to Radio Shack, a store this deserving vet enjoys. Upon leaving they notice at Consign It! we have a power wheelchair, priced conservatively at $399.00 placed at the entrance of the store. This couple looks it over, asks some questions and the man, whom lost his legs in service in Vietnam takes the chair for a “test drive” After a quick ride through the mall, he returns with some questions about the chair. Carolyn takes the couples phone # and will call them with answers after speaking with the owner of the chair. Shortly after they leave, a man walks up to me and asks. “Did that couple buy that power chair”? I explained we had to get some questions answered and call them back. The unknown man then informs me that he would like to buy the chair for that man, and please I want to remain anonymous!! I instantly felt a shiver take over my whole body, “You want to buy this chair for that man”? Yes he replies. “That’s amazing and very generous of you” “Do you know that man”? No, I just saw that couple looking at that chair, and want them to have it he says and hands me his credit card. I informed the man that I’ll charge him only the amount the store must give the owner of the chair, nothing more.

Today, the couple came back after trying to gather up the funds to purchase it, and I was able to tell them that it was already paid for. “What do you mean paid for?, By who”? “I don’t know sir, some very nice man who says you deserve this chair and wants to remain anonymous” I gave the couple the receipt and informed them were we could load the chair for them. This couple had visited with us for quite some time before deciding to purchase, I couldn’t wait for them to know. They are so grateful and in awe, almost to the point of not being able to accept this gift. I let them them know, this man wants you to have it, you deserve it, thank you for your service to our country, please take this man’s gift.

Iv’e met a lot of nice people in the 7 years I’ve had my store, but I have never seen anything like this before. To be able to see this couple receive this generosity is incredible. Thank You “Woody” for your service, And thank you to the “Angel” that was at Consign It! that day. I’d bet there is a place in Heaven for both of you.
