Twinkies, The Parable

Hostess Products

Hostess was a company that made really good products. Some said Twinkies could survive a nuclear winter. Their foods were unique. A personification of what it is to stand out and be proud of who, or what, you are. While some in the medical profession would say to eat in moderation, we enjoyed whenever we wanted. This company has many similarities to another story. Coincidence or not, you decide.

Twinkies are lovely angel food type cakes filled with gooey goodness. Some might say heavenly.

HoHos could be named for St. Nicholas as he brought good cheer to all. HoHos brought good cheer to my face.

DingDongs are the musical tones of the church bells harkening us.

Wonder Bread was always a wonder to me as it was so good, beyond just a loaf of bread. Was this my daily bread?

I’m not sure if the original creators had these thoughts in mind, but now this story turns dark. Because of humans, (the bakers Union) these wonderful products are being put to death. No longer will they walk the earth (and moon) with us. They’ve been put in the oven for the very last time.

But I tell you this, they will rise again.

The events depicted in this story are fictitious. Any similarity to any person or product living or dead is merely coincidental.

Quick Take

“ You cannot control what happens to you, but you can control your attitude toward what happens to you, and in that, you will be mastering change rather than allowing it to master you.” — Brian Tracy
