What do you get when you take a dream, add in a pinch of creative willpower, and a dash of financial support? A place designed and run for everyone. Morgan’s Wonderland in San Antonio, Texas, is the world’s first ultra accessible family fun park.
I love their vision for this new park. “Our vision at Morgan’s Wonderland is to establish a special place where smiles and laughter make wonderful memories with family members, caregivers, and friends. Where the common element of play creates an atmosphere of inclusion for those with and without disabilities so everyone can gain a greater understanding of one another.”
It was one great when Green Bay got an accessible playground put in at Pamprin Park, but this full sized park says so much more. It’s designed for people with various disabilities to level the playing field of fun for all.
One thing to keep in mind before setting off to Texas is that this park requires advanced registration. This is to help with crowd control and also to help manage crowd size for those guests with disabilities like autism.
The park also has a calming space in a beautiful garden sanctuary for anyone needing a nice space to cool-down.
Morgan’s Wonderland is one of the first places ever built that put the accessibility first and the fun second. Here’s to solid reservations for years to come and a role model for more great parks to pop up around the world!
