For the last few days on here and on twitter, We’ve looked at a glass and how it is filled. We’ve watched ourselves around others to see if we’ve kept a positive attitude or fallen into the regular negativity around us. How are you doing so far? Keep an eye on your attitude as we move forward because awareness is just the beginning.
“I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” – Thomas Alva Edison
So, my next question may surprise you. Do you celebrate your failures? If we don’t celebrate the failures, it is hard to move on and seek improvements from that failure. Could you imagine Edison throwing in the towel the first time he failed on a successful light bulb? We’d be sitting here in the dark. Would a star quarterback give up if after the first pass, it was intercepted?
Our strength often increases in proportion to the obstacles imposed upon it.” - Paul De Rapin
As a person with a disability, it could be easy for me to just sit around, let all of the challenges of life overwhelm me and give in and give up. But that’s easy. Life was never promised to be easy. The best things in life don’t come to us easy. As much as we may like it, there is no easy button. That is why it is important to face your challenges and failures and learn from them. So whether you are like Edison and found many ways that don’t work, or you consider that you’ve failed a few times, keep attempting, keep that positive attitude, keep up your self-esteem.
